Great timing on this post. I grew up listening to Michael Jackson and agree with the others who said that his music videos were an EVENT back when. What that man did for pop music… A true genius and he is sorely missed.

After our first date he called me the next day (on my actual birthday) to say Happy Birthday and all of that, and we discussed our shared hangover courtesy of the expensive champagne. After that we emailed a couple of times. But I never suggested that we meet up again and nor did he, except for one night when he was drunk and had a corporate box at the footy. Tempting as it was to be spoiled by him again, I was seeing Bachelor Number Ten quite often by then and didn’t want to give him the impression that I was interested, so I told him that unfortunately I was busy.

So, of course, since solipsism is more important than principles, we get rants about catcalling. When I read one of these things in a place that allows comments I often point out “Don’t worry, toots, in a few years it will stop. Men won’t even see you…”. Not one has ever gotten the point. Not one.

I was shocked. So much so that I felt it my duty to hunt down these photographs of this actress whom I had never previously heard of but who has apparently been awarded one of those Oscars for keeping her clothes on whilst getting emotional. I was appalled at what I found and sent one of the pictures – the one where her face appears to be covered in yogurt – to my friend. He sent me a puzzling reply which read ‘Every one needs a hobby’. What can he have meant?
